An Irish 6p stamp commemoring the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the first Irish Dáil. The stamp features a picture of the first Dáil meeting in the Mansion House, Dublin in January 1919. This Dáil met 3 years before independence had been established an on the eve of the Irish Civil War.

Inscribed ‘An Ċéad DÁil 21-1-1919’ with ‘éire’ in the top right corner. A partial frank is visible but not showing a clear date or time. The stamp was issued on January 21st 1969.
