Chicken Bowl Cup

The Chicken Bowl Cup is from China's Ming Dynasty Chenghua Emperor years, firing the bucket color process of the bowl-shaped cup. It belongs to the ethnic Han's traditional ceramics in the art of treasures and is the emperor's imperial wine cup. The cup has a large mouth and stomach, like a tank, and the exterior is painted with a chicken design, so this cup is named Rooster Vat Cup.

The Chicken Bowl Cup process is very complex. First of all, a thin line of blue and white faintly traced the outline of the decorations, and then glazed into the kiln at a high temperature of about 1300 degrees into the body, and then red, green, yellow, and other colors to fill the reserved blue and white decorations in the second kiln at a low-temperature firing. The shape of this cup is open-mouthed and shallow-bellied, with a gradually converging mouth, a flat bottom, and a reclining foot. The outer wall of the chicken bowl cup is usually decorated with a picture of a mother and a son with a chicken, surrounded by lake stones, a moon season, and a sylvan orchid; the image is vivid and full of interest.

This cup represents the highest porcelain craftsmanship of the time and is a testament to the love between Emperor Chenghua and Wan Guifei, an imperial concubine. Such cups were imperial treasures of the court during the Ming Dynasty, and very few have been handed down.

The GUANFU brand Chicken Bowl Cup is based on the Famille-rose Chicken Cup made by Emperor Qianlong of China's Qing Dynasty. It is a little smaller and it contains modern aesthetics and new technology.
